1. About us tells you a bit of our educational philosophy which is that all of us learn better
and faster if we receive integrated, logical and as complete a story as possible. We are not
cut out to deal with bits and pieces of scattered information for such an information not only
prevents learning, it also makes us feel less of a person than we actually are when we fail to
deal with it ...

You can also become a self learner and learn all the non-science subjects requiring no hands-on
experience but reading comprehensive books on the subject.

If you do that, you can also speed up your graduation by taking proficiency CLEP examinations
 offered by the public libraries.

2. Listen before teaching asks an educator to begin by listening to the child for it is the child
who is trying to learn, survive and grow physically, intellectually and emotionally.

Read the poem and the plan. The poem tells a child's anguish while the plan proposes what
can be done to alleviate that anguish...

3. Notes to parents and teachers point that you need to teach science the way you teach music,
 art, sports and technology - with full commitment, providing fully equipped places to practice
science just like you do for music, art, sports and technology. And to make it real become a
SCIENCE PARENT, SCIENCE MOM OR A SCIENCE DAD yourself... In fact make science

Microbiology and what roles microbes play in our lives.

That is the core knowledge which everyone needs to have for living a healthy prosperous life
 but we have been failing to bring that knowledge to the masses since mid fifties of the twentieth
century which is almost sixty years or three human generations ago.

Here is something to ponder on: When people had the knowledge of Microbiology, ours was an
enviable society in terms of health and economy. With the loss of that knowledge, infectious and
contagious diseases resurfaced, our health and economy began to decline, and we no longer produced
 versatile scientists, the kind society and the industries need to man their think tanks with.

The scientists we now have are specialists working on what they know and are mostly involved in
 producing and delivering goods and services and are short on farsighted creativity.

We are keeping Microbiology alive via intensive hands-on lab based courses. We have also designed
 a safe curriculum for teaching Microbiology, called Green Microbiology™ where we use killed
organisms to teach almost all the essential concepts and skills of microbiology and where live
organisms are needed, we only use Bio-Safety Level One organisms such as those found in yogurt
and other fermented foods. They are so safe that you eat millions of them with every spoonful.

We also stay away from studying human body flora other than showing how extensively populated
 our various body sites such as skin, and fingers etc., are with microbes. This enables us to infuse a
 sense of hygiene in the participants.

. In this regard we find microscope to be quite an affective tool as it shows, in rather live graphic terms,
 how teaming our environment is with microbes.

Here a wet mount of our gingival scrapping or a drop of water from a pond or a lake is very educational
especially in those villages where a small stream of water runs in the middle of the street, passing other
villages on the way, where the people water their animals and also use it for other purposes such as for
washing clothes.

In one such village, an eleven year old boy remarked “so that is why my mother is always sick”. Need
 we say more…

This is a very affective technique to promote health around the world.

Similar to refraining from culturing human body, we also refrain from culturing soil other than showing
how richly populated the soil is with microbes. The reason is that many disease producing fungi and
bacteria live in the soil.

7. Educational and supportive programs: The Center offers, workshops, courses, training programs, kits,
and theme based learning plus various forms of supportive services to the teachers and the students in their
 teaching and learning efforts.

To learn non-science subjects, we provide a reading list of selected books so students can learn on their
own saving time and money. We also guide them how to take CLEP examinations and transfer earned
credits to your college or university thus speeding up your graduation.


As per our philosophy of not fragmenting knowledge we teach complete comprehensive courses and so also
 the various themes are taught in the same holistic manner.

We also believe that knowledge should never be compartmentalized within groups or separated into
supposedly palatable pieces for different age groups. Knowledge is knowledge. It only makes sense as a whole,
 becoming valueless when broken down into pieces.

How to begin reforming and upgrading science education:

Start by learning and teaching that part of science which affects our lives the most. That science started with
 Microbiology back in l880.

Microbiology also crisscrosses almost all science subjects. As such, it enables students to learn and
understand much of chemistry, physics, biology, physiology, histology and pathology plus other science
subjects without even trying.

Microbiology in fact teaches all of life in a nutshell and since microbes divide and grow rapidly, in most cases
doubling their number in just 20 minutes, they allow us to study intricate life processes over and over again
 in a short span of hours and days, not months and years which is the norm when if study higher forms of life.

Why Microbiology?

What we now call, the Biological Revolution, started with Microbiology around 1880. Microbiology remained
the key area of research and development bringing us information about such areas as public health, disease
 prevention and treatment, immunology, genetics, genetic engineering and finally biotechnology.

There is no area of life on earth and beyond that does not need knowledge of microbiology. Yet microbiology
 was erroneously or perhaps inadvertently phased out around mid fifties of the past century. This has dire
 consequences such that much of the ground we gained in promoting science in general, and as it relates to
our environment and public health, has been progressively lost.

This loss is now so severe that our teachers have hard time offering practical skills based science as well as
explaining how the current advances in biology and biotechnology are done and what instruments and procedures
are used. Even the basic light microscope is not fully employed in teaching yet there are other basic microscopes
 such as dark field, phase contrast and fluorescent microscopes that our students and teachers need to be aware
 of and be proficient in their use.

Reviving Microbiology via pertinent hands-on workshops is our answer to fill this ever widening gap. Here
 teachers not only learn the use of the above named microscopes but also learn all of the basic concepts
and skills of microbiology. Can one really learn environmental science, earth science or space science
 without knowing how to study these areas for their biological, especially microbiological and chemical contents?

Why Green Microbiology?

Green Microbiology is safe Microbiology!

Understandably, microbiology has the connotation of disease. For this reason one may shun not to study it.
 But there are more non disease producing microorganisms than disease producing ones. Yet all those are
studied using the same principles and procedures of microbiology used to study the disease producing ones.

That is where the Green Microbiology comes in. With Green Microbiology we can teach practically all of the
 principles, procedures, and skills of microbiology using killed organisms and where live organisms are needed,
 limiting their use to those belonging to the Bio-safety level one.

That makes green microbiology doubly safe yet highly educational preparing our student to do real science
than just read about it.

We also have additional theme based workshops such as practical microscopy, use of spectrophotometers,
pH and conductivity meters, centrifugation and other separation techniques such as chromatography and
